Information about Appointments

Appointments will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Reservations will be limited to a maximum of 2 hours, between 9:00AM-12:00PM, and 1:00PM-4:00PM, Monday through Friday. Priority will be given to patrons requesting to use special collections and archival material.

Public Services staff will verify material and staffing availability before contacting you about your appointment. If your requested date and time is unavailable, we will work with you to reschedule. Please do not arrive in Cushing Memorial Library and Archives without receiving an email confirmation of your visit from Public Services.

We strive to help as many patrons as possible, while maintaining a safe environment for everyone. Therefore, we require the following:

  • Reservations must be made at least three-days in advance. This is necessary for the proper quarantining of materials.
  • As soon as your appointment is finished, the material will be quarantined. Please keep in mind that if you would like to view the material at a later appointment, it must be at least 4 business days after you last used the material.
  • You must wear a face covering in any library spaces. All exemptions must be approved prior to entering the library. For more information, see this FAQ.

Please contact Public Services if you have questions or need assistance.
