Can I return my ILL books to the front desk?
Not at this time. Please use the book drops instead, and do not remove the maroon book strap.
How do I mail in my ILL books and who do I contact to get more information about mailing in my ILL books?
For Evans, BLCC, and PSEL Get It For Me Services, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
For MSL Get It For Me services, please contact email@example.com for more information.
Why is the Get It For Me button missing for items that are currently checked out in the TAMU Libraries' online catalogs?
Due to COVID-19, very few libraries are actively lending worldwide. Those libraries that are active tend to be smaller academic libraries, not large research libraries of the type that typically fill our requests. When it appears that sufficient ILL departments have returned to operation, we will restart our interlibrary loan service and reactivate the Get It For Me button.
For the MSL Catalog, please use the Get It For Me button next to items checked out or missing. We will do our best to find an electronic option. If one is not available, we will work with you to find an alternative eBook in our collection.
Why are eBooks being delivered over print books during COVID-19?
During COVID-19, we want to minimize physical contact with books. If we have a title in both print and electronic versions, we will deliver the eBook. If you have a special need for a print version, please leave a note in the Get It For Me request form.
Can I request books that are currently checked out or not owned by TAMU Libraries via the Get It For Me service?
Due to COVID-19, very few libraries are actively lending worldwide. Those libraries that are active tend to be smaller academic libraries, not large research libraries of the type that typically fill our requests. When it appears that sufficient interlibrary loan departments have returned to operation, we will start requesting from them. Hold on to your requests for now.
Can I request a scan from our collections or other libraries?
Requestors can submit requests for book chapters and articles by logging into their Get It For Me account, selecting the appropriate option from the menu (e.g., article request), and filling in the form. If available, a PDF will be delivered to the requestor.
Will the faculty office delivery service be continued?
We will resume faculty/staff office mail stop delivery on August 17, 2020.
If I am taking all of my classes online this Fall semester, how can I get my requested books?
