Answer

While access to the Libraries' databases is limited to currently affiliated members of the University, there are a number of alternative online repositories and open access resources available to former students, community users, and other unaffiliated patrons:

  • The OAK Search is a free to use search tool, maintained by the A&M Libraries, that pulls results from a number of open access databases. Does not require a NetID login.
  • Internet Archive Scholar - browse 25 million research articles in the Internet Scholar platform
  • Unpaywall - When you come across a paywalled article, this browser extension will add a link to an open access copy if one is available.
  • TexShare Databases - Most libraries in Texas (including public libraries) participate in this program which makes various databases available to their patrons.
  • Bryan+College Station Public Library System - In addition to the TexShare databases, the BCS Public Libraries provide their patrons with access to a number of digital resources.
