Answer

Non-affiliated patrons may use our Open Access Lab (OAL) computers during our business hours by obtaining a temporary user name and password from the AskUs service desk. This temporary user name and password will only allow you to log in to the Library's OAL computers.

To obtain the login and password you must be 18 years old and provide an acceptable form of photo identification.Temporary IDs are valid for 30 days. They cannot be renewed, but a new login may be requested after the original period has expired.

We do also have limited printing and borrowing options for non-affiliated patrons.

There is a wireless network, TAMU_Visitor, available to visitors at various locations across campus, including the Libraries.

Acceptable forms of photo identification:

Government issued photo id card with:

  • name
  • unique number
  • address preferred but not necessary

College or University photo ID card from some colleges and universities.  ID card preferably will include:

  • name
  • unique number

NOTE:  Photo IDs must be clear and readable or you may be asked for another ID.  We will not accept a picture/photo of your identification.
If you have a question about acceptable identification please call us at 979.845.3731
