Answer

Trusted Parties in the ORCID system are third party companies or organizations who wish to exchange information with ORCID account owners over the Internet. Examples of Trusted Parties include the non-profit organization CrossRef, whose database of works associated with Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) can conveniently add an author's citations to his/her ORCID profile. Other Trusted Parties include Texas A&M University, the publisher of our students' theses and dissertations. We add those works of graduate scholarship to our students' ORCID profiles after graduation.

Additional information about Trusted Parties is available from the ORCID Trusted Parties web page.
