There is no reason to wait to get an ORCID, because this Scholarly Identifier allows you to associate variations of your name all in one profile. Your authorship will be associated to your works regardless of how your name was represented on any given contribution.
When you log into your ORCID account, go to the tab 'Account Settings' and then click on 'Personal Information - Edit.' Scroll down to the 'Other Names' field to enter whatever additional names you wish to be associated with your works (such as your maiden name, if you are now penning under your married name. Or visa versa).
