Thank you for taking the time and trouble to report the creation of a duplicate ORCID. We worked with ORCID and various graduate groups on campus to avoid the problem of minting a second ORCID, and we are very sorry for the inconvenience the issue has caused. We have a few other reports of duplicate ORCIDS being created despite our efforts to avoid this circumstance, and we are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

We will contact both the IT group in the libraries and the IT group at ORCID to get your new ORCID deprecated and the original restored. This is as close to an 'undo' button as we can get. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us if there is anything else we can do to assist with this process.
